Years ago, she arrived here, unaware that her life would change forever. The place she once swore never to return to… today, fate had brought her back to the very doorstep she had abandoned.
Now, standing at the edge of the lake, Myra stared at her own reflection—the same place where everything had begun. Once, this city had been a treasure to her, a place she cherished. But today, it stood as a monument of betrayal, carving an unhealed wound deep in her heart.
The man she had once loved with all her heart had shattered her just as deeply. She had sworn never to see him again, never to let him invade her world. But if fate had decided otherwise, then so be it. She was ready for the battle that made her heart race, an intensity she couldn’t ignore.
“Myra…” The sudden voice startled her, causing her to lose her balance.
Just as she was about to fall, a strong hand wrapped around her waist, pulling her back with force. Her body crashed against something hard—firm, warm, steady. It wasn’t the cold embrace of the water she had expected. It was someone’s chest.
Her hands instinctively clutched at his wrist—the one firmly wrapped around her waist—because she stood at the very edge. If he let go… she would plunge straight into the lake, and all that would remain would be the sound of a single splash—𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑎𝑘.
He leaned in, deliberately closing the distance. His lips barely brushed against her ear as he whispered in a deep, haunting voice…
“Remember me…?”
The moment those words reached her, a sudden realization struck her......

If you truly loved me, then where were you all these years? Did you even try to call me once, to reach out?" she asked, her voice breaking.
"If your love was real, then what was all that day?" She took slow, deliberate steps toward him, her eyes filled with pain and unspoken words.
"Where were you all these years?"
Hearing all this, a sharp jolt of pain surged through his heart. He stood there, bound by silence, guilt spreading like wildfire inside him.
"If I tell you the truth… will you believe me?" he asked, his voice laced with quiet desperation, his eyes filled with hope.
She took a step back, shaking her head. "This heart has forgotten how to trust, let alone love. And you… you are nothing but a stranger to me now."
His chest tightened at her words, as if each syllable was piercing through him like a dagger. He clenched his fists, shutting his eyes in pain.
She turned away, wiping her tears, and walked ahead without looking back.
"Myra, wait! Where are you going? Wait!" he shouted after her.
But she didn’t stop. She didn’t want to see him. She didn’t want to see anyone.
She rushed to her car, gripping the steering wheel tightly, her mind clouded with the weight of trust, betrayal, and the love that shattered five years ago. Memories crashed into her like waves, each one more unbearable than the last. Her grip tightened. Her foot pressed harder on the accelerator. The car sped recklessly through the empty roads.
"Why… whyyyyy?!" she screamed, slamming the brakes.
Her hands trembled as she hit the steering wheel with both palms, her head dropping onto it. Her body shook with uncontrollable sobs.
"No matter how hard I try, Rudra… I couldn't stop loving you. And I couldn't bring myself to hate you either."
Those were her last words before—
A truck, speeding uncontrollably from the side road, crashed into her car.
And then… everything faded into darkness.
